Jorge Luis Delgado
At 41 years old, Jorge Luis Delgado is a self-taught Cuban artist living in Havana and working in the the genre of rupestre.
Popular in many parts of the world including Brazil, Spain, and several countries throughout Africa, rupestre is a term used to describe an artistic sphere in which prehistoric images left on rock surfaces, particularly caves and stone walls, are a source of inspiration.
Eleven years of experimentation has led Delgado to the unique and creative use of silicon as his painting medium. He transforms symbols of the sun, moon, and images of hunting scenes into richly textured imaginative forms.
