Arístides "Ares" Hernández Guerrero

Sí...pero ¿Cuándo? (Yes... but, When?)

Galeria Cubana is pleased to introduce new work by the award winning political cartoonist Arístides "Ares" Hernández Guerrero. 

At age 56, Ares has won 150 international awards and published 22 books. He has illustrated more than 80 books and has worked in TV and film with some of his works used as short animated films (Filminutos).

Included in this online exhibition are original illustrations by Ares published both in Cuba and abroad. His cartoons highlight social justice issues across the globe. Ares confronts subjects such as power, pollution, distribution of wealth, and militarization with humor and satire.

Also available are his Limited Edition iconic posters noting the increased American tourism ushered in under the Obama Administration and the historical visit of the American president.
