In her latest exhibition Time Lapse, the talented Aneet R. Fontes sets her attention to her 3 favorites places, her beloved city of Havana, as well as the two places that have captured her heart, Boston and Provincetown. The artist shows each place as a symbol of interpretation of life itself and its evolution through time. Fontes captures the immediacy and transience of the moment in her impressionistic strokes made with the palette knife and juxtaposition of color, shadow and light. The streets and their windows, the contrast of the new and the old, the reflections through puddles in the streets, all this gives Fontes inspiration and endless possibilities.

In the words of the artist:
I try to avoid details and the exact reproduction of reality. I like to play with the contrasts of light and shadows to suggest spaces that give a sense of depth. I also like to use the palette knife instead of the brush to add movement and in this way reproduce the transience of the moment. The urban landscape has always inspired me a lot, the visual information as well as the atmosphere that each city transmits is unique.
