Ramón Rodriguez (Manglar)
Biography:
Born 1958 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Manglar is a self taught visual artist. His illuminated collographs voice intimate life moments through whimsical characters.
Manglar's earlier artistic interests were in television and film. From 1988 to 1992 he served as Television Program Director for Pinar del Rio, Cuba regional station TelePinar. During his early career he received numerous awards for documentaries about renowned Cuban artists Pedro Pablo Oliva, Juan Suárez Blanco, Arturo Regueiro and Reina Leon.
